INTERNATIONAL DELEGATIONS

The Palestine International Center welcomes international delegations that aim to build direct relationships between Palestinian refugees and communities, organizations and movements around the world. We invite student and youth groups, trade unionists, community organizations, cultural and sports associations, researchers, journalists, lawyers, activists and solidarity movements to visit the Center, meet with Palestinians in the camp and learn directly about the history, present reality and ongoing struggle of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

Delegations hosted by the Center can participate in meetings and discussions with Palestinian community organizers, youth, women, athletes, cultural workers and other residents of the camps, Lebanese and Palestinian organizations and movements, and a variety of other activities. Depending on the interests of the delegation and the Center’s current activities, visitors may also meet with local organizations and institutions, attend cultural or sporting activities, participate in workshops and community events, and visit other Palestinian refugee camps and significant historical sites. We can schedule short programs or delegation programs of several weeks and look forward to work with you to develop a program suitable for your delegation.

Delegations are encouraged to listen, engage seriously, exchange experiences from struggles in their own countries and build relationships that can continue after they leave Lebanon. The Center particularly seeks exchanges with movements confronting colonialism, racism and oppression and with organizations engaged in struggles for social and economic justice and national liberation.

These visits are also intended to strengthen international action in support of Palestinian rights, return and liberation. Delegates return home with relationships and firsthand knowledge that can inform organizing, education and advocacy in their own communities. The Center encourages visiting groups to transform their experience into sustained work: organizing public events and educational programs, developing exchanges between organizations, supporting Palestinian community initiatives, challenging discrimination against Palestinian refugees, and strengthening campaigns for Palestinian rights and the right of return.

For Palestinians and Arabs living outside the region, delegations also provide an opportunity to reconnect with the Palestinian refugee camps and strengthen relationships across the diaspora. We especially welcome youth delegations that can build lasting connections between a new generation of Palestinians in Lebanon and their counterparts elsewhere in the world.

Organizations and groups interested in arranging a delegation are invited to contact the Palestine International Center with information about their organization, the approximate number of participants, proposed dates, languages spoken and areas of particular interest. The Center can work with each delegation to develop a program that creates meaningful opportunities for political education, cultural exchange, community engagement and lasting solidarity.
