AND YOUTH

The Palestine International Center is the home of Ajyal al-Tahrir, Generations of Liberation, a youth and student movement in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. We work to organize Palestinian youth and students to play their role in Palestinian return and liberation, to advance their civil, social and economic rights in Lebanon, and to develop connections and joint struggle with international movements.

We also aim to support Palestinian youth to study through providing scholarships and other forms of assistance to university students, as well as addressing the needs of younger Palestinian students, including overcrowding and defunding at UNRWA schools, defending the right to express Palestinian identity and belonging in UNRWA schools, and providing lower-cost alternatives to expensive private tutoring, widely relied upon by Palestinian families to help their children graduate high school and enter university.

We aim to support Palestinian young workers, who often experience unemployment, hyper-exploitation or exclusion from the labor force as a result of official policies that deny employment in over 70 professions. Palestinian youth are also particularly subject to pressures toward forced migration and further displacement, where they are also subjected to racism, discrimination, and black- or grey-market labor.
