Ajyal al-Tahrir conference brings Palestinian youth in Lebanon together to activate their role in the liberation movement

On Saturday, September 19, the Lebanese capital, Beirut, hosted the Ajyal al-Tahrir (Generations of Liberation) conference, with the participation of youth and student delegations from a number of countries, and representatives of solidarity movements with Palestine around the world, and over 300 delegates from the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

The Palestine International Center organized the conference in Al-Jinan Hall at Al-Batoul High School, under the slogan: “If we do not have the ability today to liberate Palestine, it is our responsibility to prepare the generation of victory and liberation”, with the aim of enhancing the presence of Palestinian youth in the camps and diaspora, and providing a space for dialogue, organization and joint action.

The conference organizers emphasized that the meeting seeks to engage younger generations in national issues, encourage them to take initiative, assume responsibility, and develop their tools, thus enhancing their role in the struggle to liberate and return to Palestine.

The conference included speeches by international activists from different countries, during which they expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people, and stressed the continuation of work to expose the crimes of the occupying entity against the Palestinians in Palestine and various areas of the diaspora.

The conference also witnessed a special presentation on the importance of boycott and its role in confronting the occupation, as participants stressed that boycotting the entity’s products and companies supporting the occupation represents one of the tools of popular and economic resistance.

The presentation pointed to the impact of boycott campaigns on international companies, including McDonald’s and Starbucks, according to what the participants confirmed, calling on the Palestinians and those in solidarity with their cause to expand and strengthen boycott movements in various countries of the world.

The participants stressed that the boycott constitutes a major weapon in the battle against the occupying entity, as it provides a popular and economic means of pressure available to the Palestinians and international solidarity movements, in addition to its role in raising awareness of the occupation’s crimes and holding those who support it accountable.
